How to Find Deals on Marketplaces: The Simple IleZa Price Corridor Trick
Looking for a cheap phone or laptop? Do not click "cheapest first". Learn how to use IleZa prices in marketplace filters to cut the spam and find real bargains.
1. Why sorting by "Cheapest first" is a mistake
Looking for a used phone, laptop, or graphics card on OLX or Allegro?
Most people do the exact same thing:
- They type the model name into search, like
iPhone 13. - They click sort: Price: lowest first.
And what shows up on the first five pages?
- Empty cardboard boxes for ten dollars titled "original box only".
- Cheap plastic cases, cables, and screen protectors using the phone name to hijack searches.
- Broken phones with cracked screens, bad batteries, or carrier locks sold "for parts".
- Fake listings where scammers demand upfront shipping fees.
You spend thirty minutes digging through junk. It wastes your time and your patience.
Default sorting (relevance) is not much better. It just pushes sponsored ads and retail prices.
There is a simple fix. It takes ten seconds. Set a price corridor.
2. How the trick works
Instead of scrolling through endless noise, you set two basic numbers: a minimum price and a maximum price.
Where do you get those numbers? From IleZa.
1. Open IleZa and check the Fair Price for your model. 2. Subtract a small buffer (we call it delta). That is your Price from. 3. Add a small buffer. That is your Price to. 4. Enter both numbers into the search filters on OLX or Allegro.
That is it.
The empty boxes, cables, and broken junk vanish in one click. Only complete, working devices remain.
The listings near the bottom of that filtered list are real bargains. They come from regular owners who bought a new device and want a quick sale for their old one.
3. How to pick your delta buffer
Delta is just a sensible cushion. It scales with the market value of what you want to buy. Usually, it is roughly 10% to 15% of the item price:
- Budget parts and RAM (up to 500 PLN / ~120 EUR): subtract and add 50 PLN.
- Mid-range phones (500 to 1,500 PLN / ~120 to 350 EUR): subtract and add 100 PLN.
- Laptops and newer phones (1,500 to 3,500 PLN / ~350 to 800 EUR): subtract and add 200 PLN.
- High-end gear (above 4,000 PLN / ~900 EUR): subtract and add 300 to 400 PLN.
4. Example 1: Buying an Apple iPhone 13 128 GB
Check the live benchmark on IleZa:
The Fair Price is around 680 PLN.
For a 680 PLN phone, our delta is 100 PLN.
Open OLX or Allegro and set your filters:
- Search phrase:
iPhone 13 128GB - Category:
Smartphones(pick the exact category so accessories do not show up) - Condition:
Used - Price from: 580 PLN (680 minus 100)
- Price to: 780 PLN (680 plus 100)
What happens?
- Empty boxes and broken phones disappear (they are below 580 PLN).
- Unrealistic sellers asking 1,200 PLN disappear (they are above 780 PLN).
- You get thirty clean listings. If someone lists a working phone for 620 PLN, you buy it right away.
5. Example 2: Buying a MacBook Air M1 (8 GB / 256 GB)
Check the valuation on IleZa:
The Fair Price is around 1,640 PLN.
For a laptop at 1,640 PLN, our delta is 200 PLN.
Set your filters on Allegro or OLX:
- Search phrase:
MacBook Air M1 8GB 256GB - Category:
Apple Laptops - Price from: 1,440 PLN (1,640 minus 200)
- Price to: 1,840 PLN (1,640 plus 200)
Result: No corporate-locked logic boards for 700 PLN. No dreamers asking 2,500 PLN. Only functional laptops at fair prices.
6. Save your search and turn on notifications
The best deals at the lower end of the corridor do not sit around. They often sell in one or two hours.
You do not need to refresh your browser all day:
- Set up your search with the price corridor.
- Click Save search or the heart icon.
- Turn on push notifications in the mobile app.
When a regular owner posts a good device at a fair price, your phone alerts you immediately. You message them first and close the deal.
7. How to negotiate with real numbers
Spot an item listed for 750 PLN when IleZa says 680 PLN?
Do not send a rude lowball like "I will pay 400 right now". Sellers just block those messages.
Send a polite, factual note instead:
- "Hello, I am interested in this item. Current market data for this model in good condition is around 680 PLN. I can buy it today for 680 PLN with platform delivery or local pickup."
Sellers see you know the market and are ready to buy. Many will accept your offer immediately.
8. Three simple safety rules
Finding a bargain is great, but stay smart:
- Use platform protection: Always use OLX Delivery with Buyer Protection or Allegro Protect. Your money stays safe until you inspect the parcel.
- Never chat on WhatsApp: If a seller asks to move to WhatsApp and sends an outside payment link, it is a scam.
- Check the device: For phones, check battery health, sign out of iCloud or Google, and confirm there is no unpaid carrier finance on the IMEI.
Check the price on IleZa, set your price corridor on the marketplace, and never overpay again.
